On July 16, 2025, ten former rebel couples, once warriors and now partners in peace, were wed in a heartfelt mass wedding inside the 10th Infantry Division chapel in Mawab, Davao de Oro. From ex-commanders to medics, each pair symbolized hope, healing, and the power of reconciliation. Their vows were not just to each other, but to a life beyond conflict. They are current officers and members of Kalinaw Southeastern Mindanao and they represent a growing movement of former rebels choosing unity over division. As bride Emy Catarata said, “This is my vow of forgiveness.”
